Great trip thanks to Eos Airlines

Leaving home was both happy and sad. I was glad to get away from the cold and sad to leave everyone I love. I'm sure this photo is hard to figure out but tells the story: Chloe is trying to figure out why, on a rare warm day in winter, the hose is pooping ice!

Eos

Bill found a great airline called Eos set up for overseas business travelers. Instead of regular seats they have bed seats, 6.5 feet long and remarkably comfortable. Eos is ordinary on the outside...
but extraordinary on the inside! We both slept very well before landing at Standsted near London. A short layover then on to Rome via the very cheap Ryanair. Narrow seats but wisely not reclinable so the 2+ hours flight didn't seem as crowded as US coach seating.

Views of the Alps on the way south were phenomenal, but what is that UFO leaving a smoky trail as it flew in front of us and away?
Landing in Rome, luggage recovery, customs and taxi to new place all flawless! Some kind of miracle in a place famous for that sort of thing! (Miracles, I mean, not necessarily efficiency.)
